Phase IV. Completion or Resignation
First Assessment by Supervisor and Plagiarism Detection
After the student has finished writing and formatting the diploma text, then the supervisor should make a first assessment of the text as a whole. After any minor corrections to be made if necessary, the student proceeds in finalizing the diploma writing by doing a plagiarism check. For this, a plagiarism tool will be used. The supervisor creates an entry to the University’s plagiarism checking platform (Turnitin), and the student uploads the final diploma text for similarity check. A similarity check result of no more than 20% (meaning that less than 20% of the text should not be reported as being available in other sources) is acceptable. Any result of above 20% means that the text must be modified in order to decrease the similarity check score before it is accepted for assessment by the examining committee.
Submission of Documents to the Department's Secretariat
After the completion of the thesis, an evaluation of the student’s overall work must take place. For that to be possible the student is to send
- the Diploma Evaluation Application Form from the department’s website to the secretariat filled in accordingly followed by
- the diploma text in a digital media (CD, USB stick, etc.), while the supervisor sends
- the Diploma Completion Form.
If the student decides at any moment that he/she cannot meet the requirements for completing the diploma for any reason, he/she can fill out the Diploma Resignation Form and send it to the secretariat, after communicating to the supervisor expressing the reasons of resignation.
