Use of Social Assistive Robots - SARs (SARs) to develop symbolic play and imitation skills in students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) 3105210201

The purpose of the dissertation is to investigate the impact of social robots on the development of symbolic play and imitation skills, as well as the enrichment of the perceptual vocabulary of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ADF). Sub-Objectives:
1)
Investigation of literature on the development of symbolic play and imitation skills for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ADF)
2) Investigation of the current technological situation with regard to social support robots
3) Scenario design and implementation and educational intervention
4) Evaluation of educational intervention in terms of symbolic play and imitation skills, and social skills, in real-world conditions (e.g. visual contact with the social robot, response and greeting, series rotation, waiting, using objects in a symbolic way, faking energy in his body or someone else, impersonating a role from the imaginary or real environment)
