Communication Over the Internet of Things Using RESTful APIs, Use Case: Sensor Data Monitoring in Cloud Computing Environment
Communication is one of the most vital parts of an IoT system, but more importantly, it is the property on which the abilities of “talking” and “listening” to Things are depended on. Some of the components will have to interact with each other (e.g. M2M Communication), whereas some other components will have to interact with Humans (e.g. Human – Machine Communication). This thesis focuses on the REST architecture and how it can support the communication of an IoT system providing APIs for data transfer.
